Dr. Murphey is the Founder of Woodlands Family Dental and West U Family Dental. Dr. Brett Murphey was born and raised in the Houston area. He completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M in Biomedical Science, and he taught 9th grade science at Eisenhower High School before becoming a dentist. He was well-liked by his students, and he was even awarded “Teacher of the Month” by the student body… Mr. February!

Dr. Murphey graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston at the top of his class, with honors. In addition to being elected Class President, he excelled in patient relations, hand clinical skills and was well-liked by his peers. On a mission for continuous improvement in all endeavors in his life, Dr. Murphey holds himself to a high standard of excellence. He believes in surrounding himself with a superstar team at Woodlands Family Dental to help him be the best he can. As part of his pursuit of excellence, Dr. Murphey has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education in such areas as cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, implant and sedation dentistry.

Dr. Murphey is friendly, he loves what he does, and he aims to get things done right the first time. To help him accomplish this, he listens to his patients’ expectations and strives to accommodate each individual’s routine and restorative cosmetic dentistry needs.

In his personal life, Dr. Murphey and his wife Crystal have three beautiful children together; Elizabeth, Brett Aaron and Corbin! Dr. Murphey has traveled to Mexico, Nicaragua, and Guatemala where he provides dental care to impoverished areas and serves hundreds of orphans. He also enjoys driving cars at Texas World Speedway, boating on Lake Conroe, skiing, scuba diving and is consistently involved in a men’s Bible study. Dr. Chanda Costello earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Washington State University. She then went on to attend Oregon Health and Sciences University, where she earned the prestigious Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2008.Dr. Costello brings over 15 years of dental experience to her practice at Woodlands Family Dental. She enjoys focusing on her patient’s individual treatment needs and providing them high quality dental care in a way that makes them feel comfortable. She believes that a healthy smile is vital to a patient’s overall health and self- confidence and loves partnering with her patients and investing in their oral health. Dr. Costello has had extensive training in advanced dental procedures including endodontics (root canals), Invisalign clear aligners, oral surgery (extractions), and same day crowns. She is active in multiple dental organizations and enjoys learning new techniques in continuing education. In her personal life Dr. Costello and her husband have three young children- a daughter and identical twin boys. Outside of practice she enjoys spending time with her family, visiting new places, and cooking.

Dr. Shana Parrilla was born in Belleville, Illinois and relocated to Houston, Texas in 2006. As an only child of two proud nurses, Dr. Parrilla knew from a young age she wanted to help others and pursue a career in healthcare.

Dr. Parrilla graduated from the University of Houston and attended dental school at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. She trained at multiple public health facilities across the country serving low income communities. During this time, Dr. Parrilla grew her passion for dentistry as well as giving back to the community through her patients. Dr. Parrilla is dedicated to providing whole-person healthcare, placing her patients first, and ensuring high-quality dental care.

In her free time, Dr. Parrilla enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, watching Netflix documentaries, going to the gym, and staying active.

Dr. Spencer D. Peoples is originally from Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and has been in Texas for the last two years after moving from Arizona. After graduating from New Mexico Military Institute and New Mexico State University, he attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, one of three Ivy League dental institutions. Following this, Dr. Peoples completed a one year general practice residency at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine where he gained additional training in several specialities including anesthesiology, endodontics, periodontics, and oral surgery, among others.

Dr. Peoples has been practicing for over 10 years and is highly skilled in a wide range of dental treatments and procedures, from full mouth reconstruction and smile makeovers to Invisalign, implants, root canals, extractions, and same-day inlays, onlays, and crowns made in office. Continually seeking to hone his expertise, Dr. Peoples is extremely active in attending various continuing education opportunities.

Dr. Peoples prides himself on excellent patient care that not only meets, but exceeds expectations. He respects his patients and understands that everyones’ oral health needs are different. Dr. Peoples will always listen and create a personalized treatment plan designed to address the goals and unique dental health of each patient.

Dr. Peoples is married to his beautiful wife, Megan, and has three children and a new Vizsla puppy. In his spare time, Dr. Peoples enjoys being involved with his church, exploring Texas, cooking, and any outdoor activities that keep him active with his family.
